The European recycling and circularity in large composite components (EuReComp) project is presenting its third online webinar on Oct. 23, 2024, which will address the increasing need for sustainable solutions in composite materials. The session, titled “Chemical Recycling of CFRPs Derived from Large Composite Structures,” will be presented by Lefteris Amanatides from the University of Patras (UPAT) and Szymon Sobek and Marcin Sajdak from the Silesian University of Technology (SUT).

This webinar will provide insights into the chemical recycling process of carbon fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRPs), focusing on their recovery from large composite structures such as automotive and aerospace components. With the increasing emphasis on circular economy practices, the ability to reclaim carbon fibers is critical to reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact.

This session will benefit professionals in the composite materials sector, researchers and anyone interested in sustainability solutions. Attendees will learn about:

  • The chemical recycling process and its applications in large-scale composite structures
  • The impact of recycling on the performance of reclaimed CFRPs
  • Current advancements and future prospects for chemical recycling technologies in the composites industry.

This free event takes place on Oct. 23 at 2:00 p.m. CET via Teams. To join, click the following link.
